Write for us
We welcome thoughtful proposals about rural skills, learning, work, independent enterprise and the ways knowledge moves through countryside communities. Send proposals through the Contact page; a clear angle matters more than a grand claim.
What to propose
Pitch a focused subject that can help a general reader understand one choice, process, comparison or question. We are interested in explanation, careful comparison, context and grounded ideas for readers to consider. Tell us what the piece would cover and what it would leave outside its scope.
What makes a strong pitch
Include a working title, a short summary, the category it best fits and a sentence on why the subject merits its own piece. Be specific about the intended reader and the main point. Avoid broad promises, unsupported claims, disguised advertising and advice that requires professional judgement or checking rules that vary by place.
Sending and review
Proposals are sent through the Contact page by choosing the editorial option and including your pitch in the message. Do not send confidential personal information. A proposal is not an agreement to publish, and any accepted contribution remains subject to editorial review and clear disclosure of relevant interests.
Talent grows where knowledge can travel
Rural work is not one story or one route. We look at the choices, constraints and exchanges that shape how people learn and earn.
